The alter ego of Chris Daniel is "Cougar T". The Cougar picked up the guitar at age 15 and went on to study at Hollywood's Musician's Institute in the early 1980s. In 2004, while a member of "Kelley and the Beachcombers", he switched to bass and has been keepin the groove ever since. He is currently playing with "Fish Hook" a Santa Cruz based classic rock band and "Firefly"(www.fire-fly-band.com) a Monterey based surf/classic rock/country band. He is a regular on the local club circuit and has played with "Kelley and the Beachcombers", "Cheeky Spanks", "Stella and the Baha Blues Band", "The Surf Dawgs", "The Steve Throop Group", "Final Frontier", "Bill Smith and the Hellcats", "Victory Lane", "Zeus and the Lesser Gods", "The Ace Andres Band", PHD, and "The Baxters".
The Cougar plays a Fender Jazz Bass through an Ampeg SVT-III pro head and an Ampeg Pro series cabinet

Firefly performs Classic Rock, (such as Free Ride, Proud Mary, Mustang Sally, China Grove, Long Train Runnin, Johnny B. Good) Surf tunes (Pipeline, Sleepwalk, Apache, California Girls), and classic country (Walkin After Midgnight, Crazy, Luckenbach Texas, Rocky Top).
